Bakán Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC Riserva

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2018 Organic Red Wine

€19.99

It originates from one of the most suitable areas of Abruzzo for growing wine, from an almost fifty-year-old vine of a vineyard trained with the Tendon-system, at an ideal altitude to ensure a formidable thermal excursion and with a magnificent exposure.

75 cl, 14,5% Vol.

Round, full-bodied and complex with balsamic and spicy notes. An impenetrable ruby red color with scents of ripe blackberries, sour cherries, and mulberries. The taste is reminiscent of black cherry, cherry and berries.
It is excellent with well-structured and tasty dishes: aperitifs, starters, first courses, vegetarian food, red meat, and medium and long matured cheeses.

Serve at 17°C.

Ancarano and Controguerra, Italy.

Clay soil with sandy veins at approx. 290m. AMSL.

100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes from 50 (average) year old vines.

Strictly manual harvest with selection of the best grapes.

The bunches are harvested from 20 to 30 October in the ancient Ancarano and Controguerra vineyards with optimal exposure and low yield. The terroir guarantees these grapes daily temperature variations which emphasize the typical aromas of Montepulciano grapes.

Vinification in thermo-conditioned steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation. 6 months-maturation in cement vats, then 12 months in barriques, to be bottled in the total absence of oxygen and aged for a further 6 months.
