Bakán Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOCG Colline Teramane

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2018 Organic Red Wine

€19.99

It originates from one of the most suitable areas of Abruzzo for growing wine, from an almost fifty-year-old vine of a vineyard trained with the Tendon-system, at an ideal altitude to ensure a formidable thermal excursion and with a magnificent exposure.

75 cl, 14,5% Vol.

Soft, round and full-bodied, Bakán DOCG stands out for its remarkable harmony between freshness and fruitiness. A luminous ruby red color accompanied with flavors of violets, roses, ripe blackberries, and plums. On the palate it reminds of black cherry jam, cocoa and coffee.

It is excellent with well-structured and tasty dishes: aperitifs, starters, first courses, vegetarian food, red meat, and medium and long matured cheeses.

Serve at 17°C.

Martinsicuro, Italy.

Clay soil with sandy veins at approx. 290m. AMSL.

100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes from 50 (average) year old vines.

Strictly manual harvest with selection of the best grapes.

The bunches are harvested from 20 to 30 October in the ancient Controguerra vineyard with optimal exposure and low yield. The terroir guarantees these grapes daily temperature variations which emphasize the aromatic sensations typical of Montepulciano grapes. Bakan DOCG represents one of the most satisfying evolutions of our traditional vines.

The wine-making process occurs in thermo-conditioned steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and subsequent maturation for 6 months in cement vats. Further 18 months in large 50hl casks, before being bottled in the total absence of oxygen and 6 more months of aging.
