Barbera D'Alba DOC
Barbera D'Alba 2021 Red Wine
€18.99
A prestigious and typical Piedmontese wine that can be enjoyed young while also being suited for wood aging.
Rich, elegant and full-bodied, this wine's deep flavor softens the characteristic fresh acidity of the variety. Originally appreciated in Piedmont and Lombardy, this typical red table wine is now widely spread throughout Italy and the world.
75 cl, 14,5% Vol.
Intense ruby-red colour with violet glints. Ample and complex bouquet with fruit notes reminiscent of blackberries, cherries and strawberries, along with spicy notes of cinnamon, vanilla and green pepper. The flavour is rich and harmonious with a delightful and long lasting aftertaste.
Ideally paired with starters and cold meats, pasta dishes with butter or cheese sauces, such as ravioli or risottos and creamy cheeses.
Serve at 17°C.
La Morra (Cuneo), Italy.
Calcareous soil with sand-silt sediments at approx. 250m. AMSL.
100% Barbera d'Alba grapes from 26 (average) year old vines.
Strictly manual harvest with selection of the best grapes.
To allow for a prolonged contact of the must with the skins, the fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Maturation is then carried out for 12 - 16 months in French oak barrels, 50% new and 50% one year old, followed by 6 - 9 months of bottle ageing.
