Cantina il Poggio

Located in the renowned "Parma Food Valley", Cantina Il Poggio covers 28 hectares of vineyard, olive grove and natural domain with, at its center, the Cangelasio hill winery.

Here, the terroir expresses its personality and vocation for the traditional varieties inherited from Parma and Piacenza's Viticultural tradition; Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, Barbera and Bonarda.

From its clay soil, partially rich in limestone and schist, also came the will to produce structured red wines with long aging-potential, therefore introducing new plant varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The cellar barrel slow rythm, the silence in the vineyards during working days, the wine growth throughout clusters crushing, maceration, spontaneous fermentation and apparently static rests is all revealed through the wine itself: a lifestyle of "beyond-contemporary" wines, in respect of a pure environment.
