Turan Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOCG Colline Teramane Riserva

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2009 Organic Red Wine

€32.48

It originates from one of the most suitable areas of Abruzzo for growing wine, from an almost fifty-year-old vine of a vineyard trained with the Tendon-system, at an ideal altitude to ensure a formidable thermal excursion and with a magnificent exposure.

75 cl, 14,5% Vol.

Sensual, intense, and remarkably persistent. It confirms the floral and roasted notes of the nose and reveals pleasant hints of spice, licorice, and tobacco. An impenetrable ruby color, with flavors reminding floral notes, fruit jam, violets, coffee and cocoa. On the palate it is reminiscent of ripe blackberry, undergrowth, spices, pepper, and tobacco.

It is the perfect wine: you can enjoy it whether during moments of meditation or with some friends. Appropriate with structured and tasty dishes but also with aperitifs or starters, red meat, vegetarian dishes, and short and long seasoning cheese.

Serve at 18°C.

Colonnella and Controguerra, Italy.

Clay soil with sandy veins at approx. 290m. AMSL.

100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes from 50 (average) year old vines.

Strictly manual harvest with selection of the best grapes.

The bunches are harvested from 20 to 30 October in the ancient Colonella and Controguerra vineyards with optimal exposure and low yield. The terroir guarantees these grapes daily temperature variations which emphasize the aromatic sensations typical of aged Montepulciano.

A vinification in thermo-conditioned steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation, a 6 months maturation in cement tanks, then 30 months in 50hl barrels, to be bottled in the total absence of oxygen and aged for at least 8 months.
